Obesity is defined as having too much fat on your body. How did you get too much fat on your body? Have you paid attention to what foods you were consuming? Can you identify what foods are ‘bad’ for you? Have you thought about what you can do to change your situation? Do you know what you are doing to the bones and joints in your body having too much fat? Do you have any idea as to what you are doing to your heart?
Why do we have to be critically ill before we decide to rectify our situation? We can put a halt to obesity by putting forth an effort to do so. Once we have decided to put forth the effort to reverse our current situation with obesity, we must exercise patience and determination to get through this.

Obesity Epidemic
Across this nation, obesity has become widespread. Child Obesity has gone rampant. But how did our children get to this point? What are the hidden reasons why our children are obese? Are we as parents contributing to the child obesity?
Somehow, someway we have to focus on our own weight situation before we can begin to focus on our children. A better scenario here is to focus on both – parents and children. We need to first determine what we are doing to create obesity. Once we have established the answer to this question, we can begin our attack to rid our families of obesity.

Child Fast Food Obesity III
For those of us who have older children in the household, teach them to prepare nutritious meals for the family. Use the resources you have available to help our society with this illness of child obesity.
Fast food needs to be eliminated from our children’s daily lifestyle if we are going to take an active part in ridding this nation of child obesity.

Child Fast Food Obesity - II
Maybe your child improved their school grades. This is a great time to use a fast food meal as a reward. Let us not use fast food meals to be the norm for our children to eat.
Sacrifices are needed to keep our children healthy. Realizing most homes have both parents working outside of the home, sometimes it is hard to have the time needed to prepare nutritious home-cooked meals. This is where sacrifice comes into play. You might have to prepare several meals at one time and put them in the freezer for later consumption.
Do some research to find out ways to help you help your children with obesity. Children need nutrition for their growing up years. Children do not need to learn to focus on fast food as their only source of food intake.

Child Fast Food Obesity
We have to be proactive and get our children away from the fast food industry. It will be difficult to make this change all at once but we must start by reducing the number of fast food meals our children consume. Gradually we will be able to eliminate fast food meals all together.
If you allow your child/children to eat at fast food chains every day, then start reducing these meals to three times a week. After about a week or two, cut it down to two times a week. Continue in this manner until fast food meals are just a “treat” as a reward for excelling at something.

Motivation
Without motivation, I would have given up trying to lose the weight I resolved to lose four months ago. I resolved to lose 80 pounds by the end of this year and right now I am at 22. I lost more on the scales but of course some of that was fluid retention. I am going to stick with this for the long haul. I am going to do a five-day fast once each quarter to keep me on track. What are you doing to tackle your weight loss problems? I have an idea, visit me at www.marymshields.usana.com.
